Pros

There are genuinely good people working here who were likely attracted by the company’s reputation and brand. However, many employees quickly discover that the work environment can be highly stressful and, at times, toxic. Before accepting a position, I strongly recommend doing thorough due diligence. Speak with current employees, research the company’s legal history involving employee disputes, and carefully benchmark the salary being offered against the actual market rate.

Cons

Career development opportunities appear limited and are often reserved for a select group of long-term employees. The company suffers from a lack of strong and effective leadership, which seems to stem from issues within HR and upper management. Unprofessional behavior, poor leadership practices, harassment, and bullying are too often tolerated rather than addressed. Many employees are expected to perform the responsibilities of multiple roles while being underpaid, with this being framed as “development opportunities.” Overall, the company appears far more focused on profitability than on the wellbeing and support of the employees who contribute to its success.

Pros

I wish I had something to share.

Cons

Owned by a holding company that has done so for 5 years. Site upper management has changed 3 times in 2 years. The company will promise compensation then try to withhold said compensation until the employee calls them to task and then they will try to not pay back owed wages. Moral is extremely low and its almost impossible for them to find and keep a viable workforce due to poor management, low pay and the extreme background checks required to work at the location. They do not offer much in way of employee development or career progression.

Good morning and thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed review. I´m sorry that you´re not having such a great experience at IDEMIA and that is why I´ve shared your comment with our management team in your location as well as with our leadership team. We realize that there is much more we can do to support our employees and develop their careers within the company. That is why we´re deploying a new global Employee Assistance Program as well as a few initiatives in terms of employee development - first global Career week, implementing a career framework to make the career conversation smoother, and step by step creating an internal marketplace to support the internal mobility by all the means. Unfortunately, all this doesn´t happen overnight, but we do believe in continuous improvement, and step by step we can make sure we provide a better employee experience than this. Please bear with us while we make this happen! Kind regards, we_care@idemia.com

All over the place

Pros

Pros would include in house professional relationships that can arise. There tends to be a “us against the world” type of mentality that ends up being a form of comradeship.

Cons

Upper management is all over the place. No clear direction career wise and very difficult to grow without jumping through thousands of hoops. Finance department is just a joke.

Pros

Good pay in Bureau and good canteen

Cons

Management is very bad on shop floor. One embedded family where the female manager has hand picked personal friends that work with her and she let's them all including herself and partner feed shamelessly from the company coffers. For example overtime when not needed, taking work home and getting paid for it and the list goes on. This isn't open to anyone else on the shop floor. Upper management can't be bothered to stop it. I hate working there but need the money

Pros

You will have a lot to learn. The fact is that most senior developers, who are directly below the management level end up leaving. Majority of the managers don't know what they're talking about. So you will have to learn a lot to be able to cope up with the sheer stress of the workload. Most employees understand that within 3 months of joining and end up leaving the organization for its competitors.

Cons

Horrendous pay. Idemia's direct competitors in the industry hire its employees at twice sometimes thrice the salary. Never believe a word of what they tell you about your pay being increased, unless you get it in writing. I know a lot of people who let good opportunities go because they trusted their managers and were made a fool out of. While on the subject of pay, do not expect decent appraisals as well. Those are reserved for the upper management. The level of micro management is crazy. They spend more time asking you what you're doing and telling you how you should do it, instead of actually letting you do the work. Most leads don't even properly understand the technologies their teams are working on, so don't expect a lot of help. Having said that, there are some talented ones as well. Its a game of chance, in whose team you'll land. There was a critical lack of projects in Noida office, at least when I left. I don't know about now. And lastly, forget work life balance is a thing.

Pros

I worked with some of the best people. There is room to grow if you really want to.

Cons

Work/Personal life balance is hard to juggle. Gaps in communication between different departments. Upper management is very disorganized and sometimes unable to help the needs of the regular employees. Pay isn’t great.

Pros

Laid back work environment. Work life balance is great. Often handed roles and responsibilities that exceed your pay band, which is great for resume but not so great for your wallet.

Cons

Projects are a bit chaotic at times. Lack of accountability from upper management when projects are in the red. Pay is extremely compared to the market value.
