McGraw Hill reviews about "work life balance"

If you like having ZERO work life balance this job is for you. The expectation to be on at all times is never said, just implied and expected. They'll say don't work late or on weekends, but the job needs to be done. So if 40 hours isn't enough, which it never is, given the daily meeting expectations, managing renewal processes, outreach campaigns, and onsite meetings, figure it out. The sales team is KING, and everyone else has to accommodate their personalities. Sales can be rude and argumentative to MANAGERS in front of other team members or in meetings, and they are still employed because they bring in money! The general feel is "Ask questions but not too many questions" This work environment was toxic.

There are no advancement opportunities.

Promotions are tough to come by - policies are vague and “change” a lot

Poor work/ life balance. There is a toxic environment, especially in the London team, where one of the worst sales managers micromanages you. You are under a lot of pressure if the business isn't doing well. You are asked to do business travel almost every day, and it is exhausting. No Company Conferences to meet colleagues and there is poor time to socialize with coworkers, as you are requested to go on 'campus'.

Lots to manage at once

Salaries are slightly lower than other companies in the field. The medical insurance is not the best and has large deductibles. Hard to move up in the company.

Kinda small company, so no possibility to grow, no help for professional development.
