Pros

Diverse staff are hired Team members are supportive

Cons

-mistreatment and bullying from supervisors and upper management. -management does not show consideration to staff but tells you "we are staff just like you" but boss not roll racks, does not do door (osd) for more than 2 minutes or serve customers on register for more than 2 minutes. She does not serve on weekend and see what staff has to deal with. they leave to go home early Always. -extremely obvious nepotism, across stores in Australia. -ver bad treatment if you are found to be with union. Shop keeper union - Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees' Association SDA. -when there are surveys that are anonymous, the boss does not exit room. Has pressured staff to change negative response to positive. -demeaning bosses who just go to smoke breaks and long lunches. Pretend to be kind when management Fez visits -staff discount is NOT generous. Half price clothes but only 4 items a week. -hard to use annual leave, sick leave ect. -they always understaffed because that is cheaper for them. They just think about the bottom line. -they don't do enough for environment. Throw lots of goods. -managers don't care if customers threat to staff. -management repeatedly bully staff. -drug users and alcoholics abuse the staff and cleaning vomit and pee is part of the job -customers have had sex in fitting room and management do nothing. -THEFT!!! Managers expect you to stand at the door and show force and check backpacks. They will not hire security even after several request. -quota is not reasonable if you don't hire enough staff -all of these cons go along with minimum wage.

Pros

Discount is great , The people

Cons

Worst company I have worked for. No one cares for the people, the management create the problems and then blame the workers for not doing it right. Worksafe are always called but never actually talk to the workers, just goes to the supervisors and they lie to their face. The pay is minimum wage, but actually should be around $24 an hour and $28 on Saturday s

Cons

When I first started working at Savers, I was put into production area. I was excited because it was something I was looking forward to. My first month there I came to an understanding of what everyone's job description was and boy was I unhappy. You have Supervisor's & Managers walking around like Kings & Queens while everyone is working like animals because of the high expectations of there daily targets. It's ridiculous! CRAZY! I wasn't used to see things like this because when I was a Supervisor/Manager I would always help my staff no matter what. I was told that Supervisor's & Managers in Production are meant to direct the team and not do the job for them. Really???!!! When it was really busy and we were short staffed I've had supervisors/managers walk past constantly and not lend a hand, instead asking "is everything okay?" What about DO YOU NEED HELP? I've also had Supervisors walk past in the production area while we're all struggling on the lines and say 'I'M BORED, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO" wth! If you desperately need your short staffed team members to hit their targets than HELP OUT instead of asking What happened?! Why didn't you's clear the lines? I have never come across a workplace with such unprofessional staff members who don't care about the staff. MORE HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK I also found that in the my workplace there is a lot of favouritism happening. Best friends who are good friends with the managers aswell as being promoted as Supervisors. Keeping secrets from staff. Supervisors talking about other team members and making fun of them. We also had the store managers son being put into an area where another team member was supposed to be in. They didn't announce it at all during the staff meeting because they knew it would upset the other co-worker. So why do it in the first place if you knew it was wrong?! Not telling the other lazy staff what to do properly instead letting the other good workers do the dirty work for them! Everything in Production is not worth it because you're pretty much getting paid as the front in Retail. Our job description is classified under Retail because we're constantly rolling out items on the floor. How cunning is that for SAVERS to do, so they don't have to pay the Production workers more even though they work twice as harder than retail workers/supervisors/managers. The only bonus you have is getting dust in you face! Give PRODUCTION workers what they really deserve... a PAY RISE! & also put more staff on the TABLES & LINES so staff aren't always under pressure and absent from work due to STRESS and sore muscles from high impossible targets! It's absolutely ridiculous and inhumane. You's say Savers care about the wellbeing of Earth what about the wellbeing of staff members? If you take of you're employees than they will take care of your company! SAVERS YOUR WHOLE PRODUCTION SYSTEM NEEDS TO CHANGE! YOU SHOULDN'T LET YOUR EMPLOYEES WORK LIKE ANIMALS, IT'S REALLY DISGUSTING! I just can't believe there is a workplace like SAVERS that really exist. It really is SLAVERS not SAVERS.
