Has anyone interviewed with Capital One multiple times before? I went through a "power day" back in 2024 and didn't get the job, but have been repeatedly asked to interview for various roles since then and have never moved into another power day. I'm convinced that they're only reaching out to me to check a legal box before hiring internally so that they don't have to bother looking for new candidates.

Management heavily micromanages the drafting and design process. Rather than providing standard PDF markups, leadership goes directly into live Revit models to leave inefficient, color-coded notes and make their own changes. They often spend more time creating complex notes in the model than it would take staff to simply fix the issue. There is also a frustrating tendency to heavily critique how you accomplish a task in the software, even when the final PDF output is perfectly correct."
A client was referred to me for some product graphic work due to their internal design teams lack of creative output. So this situation started off from to just 1 flatlay project… To me now having 6 of their major client contracts. The issue now - the internal design team is bitter that the major contracts are being outsourced. (I have an inside source) Now the accounting team has been “taking their time” to pay invoices, all while I’m in the middle of the projects.
The environment was very fast-paced, but onboarding and support were not enough. Tasks were not always clearly explained, priorities changed often, and I did not receive clear direct feedback early enough before the termination.

In my opinion, the process felt unprofessional. New employees should receive clear expectations, proper onboarding, direct feedback, and a real chance to improve before such a serious decision is made.
The most difficult part was that I did not receive clear and direct feedback early enough. If the expectations were not being met, I believe it would have been more professional to give proper feedback and a short improvement period before termination.
I was working hard and even outside normal hours sometimes. In the last weeks, I felt that I was finally starting to understand the workflow better and become more productive. But the decision was made very quickly.
I am not saying I am perfect. Every designer has things to improve. But even experienced designers need time to adapt to a new product, team, process, and company culture. One month is too short for a fair judgment.
This experience affected me psychologically, financially, and professionally. I had already left my previous local job for this opportunity, so the sudden termination created a very difficult situation for me.
