As a consultant (3 YOE) is it normal to find majority of my colleagues incompetent / lacking basic common sense? Is it a sign I am I in the wrong firm / profession? I really don't mean to be arrogant / rude but I can't help but find it mind boggling how some of my colleagues manage to get this far and consider them borderline con artist. Is this a normal feeling?

Its a bit of both. Yes you're in the wrong firm but also, you need to adjust expectations and accept reality.

Yea totally! I feel the same and have learnt to accept that most people are like that in corporates and some are even at a higher pay grades. Just do what you’re paid to do and no need to involve or help in other people’s business. Just remember that everyone is paid to do certain things and focus on yourself.
