I am a Civil/Structural Engineer in the UK with 4 years of experience, working to ICE Chartership. I don't want to stay in CivEng, mainly because of the pay progression in the field. I've researched and struggled to find other high paying careers I can pivot into with my background aside from management consulting. Still not sure whether to pivot now, or push through and get chartered and then think about it later. Is chartership even worth it if I don't want to stay in engineering?

Assuming ICE Chartership is the equivalent of an PE here in the states. I was in a similar situation, 2 years out of school and felt CE was poorly paid and a dead end. Decided to pivot to tech program/project management, 2 years later I make more then my newly minted PE, and then 3 years later even some of the senior ones. The thought of taking an 9 hour exam is stressful. Check out UK Deloitte major programmes , might be a good pivot
