In a world where a growing number of people are seeking more fulfilment over higher salaries, you may be seeking a career which includes regular or even permanent travel. To help you on your quest for adventure, we’ve put together this blog to help you find careers where travel is guaranteed.
With the rapidly evolving world of work, you may discover your current employer is open minded and will let you work remotely. You can do some research on Glassdoor to see if any current or former employees mention travel in their reviews. If you need some inspiration then here are some potential routes which you could explore.
The Travel Industry
If you’re deeply passionate about travel, then your first place to look for a career is within the travel industry. Some roles guaranteed to take you around the world include; pilot, cabin crew, cruise ship worker, holiday rep or exhibition lead. In addition to the many customer service focussed roles, it’s certainly worth looking into back office roles where travel can be a regular part of the job. Many travel companies offer discount or free travel as an employee benefit and a growing number of companies like Virgin are adopting unlimited vacation policies.
Consulting
The fast moving consulting industry usually includes plenty of travel. Some of the roles will mean working onsite with clients almost permanently, others will involve 50% of travel or more every year. Whether you’re working for a big firm or a small boutique agency when you’re working away from the office you may be able to extend business trips with your annual leave so you can explore the region you’re working in.
Consulting roles are available for graduates right through to experienced talent. Search for ‘consulting’ on Glassdoor here to get a flavour for what’s available.
Third Sector

As many project managers are contractors it enables flexibility so you can choose which contracts you take on, looking for ones which include travel. As a project manager, you’ll be able to work across multiple industries which will enable you to find work all over the world.
