Pros

Bright smart people who just want to do their job and do it well however they are not treated great and expected to do more.

Cons

Extremely bad management. I don’t know how they got the roles and it’s pure politics. Dictatorship and if you listen to them then you are fine but if you speak up and tell them what they should do to make it better then be prepared to be walked out the door. You need to be billable and if you are not then you are gone too. It’s not about the people, HR don’t care and are clueless so who advocates for the people? Everyone is in survival mode and all the town halls are just fluffy and boring. You are planted on client engagements and will be stuck there until the day the customer doesn’t want you. Feel more like part of their company as opposed to the one that I signed up to. People are just names on spreadsheets and with all this integration that is going on, it’s still old school ways of working and no clear plan to make things better. Sales people are just a bunch is sharks (Melbourne in particular) and just fling your resume to the customer. No idea if they have had any sales training and maybe understand what the services they are selling? Amateurs Wasted 2 years of my career in this place so if I were you, run for the hills and go and work somewhere that values people.

Pros

Pockets of people (mainly consultants) are decent but I cannot say the same for the leaders of this business

Cons

The consultants are working so hard to deliver for customers and whilst we get recognised by the client, we get donuts from the company that we represent. Fake recognitions during town halls (ARQ ones) that has no substance and when promotion cycle comes along, those recognitions and testimonials from people you work closely with account for nothing. These so called leaders are just in it for their own back pockets with earn outs on the line. We busted our backsides to do promo cycle pressos only for them to be shelved and we got no outcomes apart from disappointment. NCS Australia is by far the worst company I have ever worked for and the people in that organisation has got to be the most lifeless bunch I have met. Clearly destroyed the culture and good luck to anyone who decides to go there. If you have options to join any other company, go there because pay isn’t great, projects are ok but the leadership is really bad. Whatever salary you negotiate will be the salary you will get until the day you leave!

Pros

Seasoned engineers and strong Cloud capability with real thought leaders in the industry

Cons

Leadership (ARQ) and now NCS under new structure very substandard. Only interested in billable hours and not rewarding those that work hard but punishing those who are not 100% billable. Just a numbers game and never about the people. Training off my own bat, never paid for and on my own time. Sale people are a bunch of CV senders like recruitment agencies and not solution selling solutions but after a transaction. Other capabilities such as Digital have suffered. Hired for one project, market turns and then they get chopped when they are on the pine. Feel sorry for the grads who were promised a career only for their confidence to be shot due to terminations because sales people didn’t do their job properly. This is ARQ greediness and it’s damning that these leaders are still there. NCS is not an upgrade at all and it’s getting worse with no light at the end of the tunnel. Awesome people have left and more to come. Unfortunately all this is covered up. Promotion cycles never came through. Pathetic excuse at a special town hall to talk about it but it’s fuel to the fire instead. Mass fall out because of this as a result.
