Pros

- Quite a few smart developers in MYOB - People in most teams work efficiently and pull their weight - Great office location in Silicon Richmond - Flexible work from home arrangements - LinkedIn learning

Cons

- Development teams in Melbourne are being gutted and roles being sent off to Xi'an China (Thoughtworks Contractors) - High attrition levels due to work overload and rapid culture decline (since the previous CEO Tim Reed left) - Restructures, restructures they just don't seem to end! - The CEO Greg Ellis and the Executive Leadership Team don't care about staff concerns; just work harder - Software quality is declining rapidly due to high quality employees getting fed up and leaving the company (loss of domain knowledge) - Good middle management leaders who were quite capable are also leaving en-masse due to horrible Executive Leadership group attitudes

Pros

- You can literally get away with doing little to no work at all, so it's basically a free ride for you to do your own thing. Which is awesome.

Cons

- You won't learn anything because you'll be doing no work, so it'll be a lot harder to move onto another company. - The politics and incompetency of management is on a level I've never witnessed before. It will make you feel frustrated, unless if you can not take it personally - then it's great, because it just becomes that free-ride you wanted. - The recent restructures have literally destroyed the fabric of the company. Teams are severely under-resourced. Everyone is cynical because those who were supposed to be promoted, have not been. - No one cares. Like literally, no one cares. Again, can be good or bad depending on what you want. - Company is not hiring. Promises to rehire the people who left have been promised, but it'll never happen, because the company is bleeding money. They know it. Everyone knows it. It's getting literally eaten alive by it's competitors.

Pros

Great people to work with Interesting technical challenges to solve Great deal of autonomy on how to tackle problems Nice culture (before takeover!)

Cons

Mass redundancies Loss of strong technical talent due to redundancies / attrition Seemingly no clear direction Moving to a model where most of the development work is done by external contracting companies both domestically and internationally (China) Untruthful management - during the redundancy period, employees were told that no decision was final and that there would be a consultation period. However prior to this date, the CEO had already confirmed to the media that redundancies had taken place.
