Pros

-50% Discount -Australian Owned -Great fun to style customers

Cons

-Horrible management, higher up will bully, embarrass and intimidate you. -Expect to have less than 24 hrs notice for shifts with no option to refuse them, even if you're on annual leave. Rosters for the week will be sent to you at 10pm Sunday night. Often they would change mid-week with staff threatened with warnings if they were unavailable . -Dress code standards are over-the-top. You will get a guide that will dictate how to wear your hair and makeup, if winged eyeliner is "cool or not" for that week and that you should be splashing out on Kookai to wear to work. -All the joy is taken out of work, myself and other staff dreaded coming to work each shift. -Ridiculous KPI targets. Expected to sell outrageous numbers of cheap sterling silver jewellery to customers as the markup on them is where Lovisa makes the most profit. Regional managers harass you to sell X amount per shift and if you don't reach those goals you have your shifts taken from you. -Overstaffed. All the hours are given to the store manager, everyone else is given 3-6 hours per week. -No work/life balance. Expect to be awake at 6am travelling up to 30 minutes to get a key to open the store in the morning. Constant messaging from managers via whatsapp, even at midnight. -The pay is minimal, with no raises if you're over the age of 20. You will not get overtime, even if you're stuck at the store hours later. No penalty rates for 6am work or 12pm finishes. You also cannot take time off (even request a single day of annual leave) during school holidays, from November to Mid January, or over Easter; even if you give 6 months notice. -Everything is dictated by your regional and state managers, who you may never even get to meet. They don't care about you as a person, to them you are only a money making machine and they will make you feel worthless. If you need to contact them for any reason you'll be met with answering machines and unreturned phone calls and emails. -The childish Lingo being thrown around your workplace by all mangers such as "on fleek". -If you work for Lovisa be prepared to get anxiety and spend a lot of time crying. For months and months I stuck with Lovisa whilst my partner, friends and family all urged me to quit because they could see the mental toll the bullying and terrible management of the company it was having on me.

DO NOT WORK HERE - HEAD OFFICE REVIEW

Pros

cannot give positive reviews for this company

Cons

In head office there is a lot of politics and drama - this stems from the senior management. The turnover is ridiculously high as there is no real culture. There is no team dynamic. It is about using and abusing good loyal workers and having favourites. Some staff (certain level) can get away with whatever they need to - coming in late, taking credit for other peoples work, bullying, nasty behaviour...all because senior management have their eyes closed and are incompetent by nature. DO NOT WORK HERE. You will only regret it. They also promise growth and opportunities within the business but are really more happy to keep workers in their small box with no changes to your title and low pay with a workload is unrealistic. Also, be prepared for a workday of 7am - 7pm most days. If you like to see daylight, this place is not for you! Lovisa teams have even been asked to make up fake reviews and put on sites like this so please be mindful of this fact. Any good reviews, are Lovisa itself.

Pros

Literally nothing. 50% off is okay but they still making decent profit off that and you can't wear jewelry once it goes on sale anyway. (Which happens often)

Cons

Regional managers. They are pretty much the devil is disguise. Even if you're amazing they will still find ways to make you feel like the worst employee on earth. There used to be a strategy where a regional would pick 3 things a team memeber would have to improve on. No postives. They only work on bringing you down. Rosters. They are chopped and changed sometime up to 3 or 4 times a week. You can never plan ahead because one roster change might ruin your plans, and forbid you ask to switch a shift with someone else. Time off. Every time I ask for a day off it has to be atleast 2 weeks in advanced and even then more than half the time I get rostered on for that day anyway. I used to take it on the chin and just work it. But these days I can't even handle it. The amount of family gatherings, births, birthdays and holidays I've missed out on for a measly 3 hour shift is disgusting. I've had $400 festival tickets and had to cancel because it was in 'blockout' period and I had to stay around for a 3 hour shift. Management. Managers aren't even allowed to manage the store themselves. It's micro-management. The regional will call and tell them exactly what to say to a team member. Managers can't make their own rosters. They have to have approval for even switching 2 mid week 3 hour shifts. Overtime/not getting paid. I've put hours I've stayed overtime against my will into etivity and had them deleted by the regional and not been paid for them. It's more than frustrating. A lot of times I haven't gotten a lunch break and they will take 45 minutes out of my pay despite me being there for (eg.) 7 and a half hours straight. Not even a toilet break because other team have not showed up and despite trying to orgainise someone else MYSELF. regionals dont give a damn. They just get to prance around and talk on the phone all day. Waste. I have suggested multiple times that the recalls they get in store (perfectly good merchandise that just didn't sell) should be donated to a good cause. But instead they throw it straight in the bin because they don't want someone making profit (even charity) off their loss. Heartless. Add-ons. They make you sell stupid sterling silver earrings that are the WORST quality. For every 3 pairs I sell I swear to heavens 1 gets returned for falling apart within the time it has taken for the customer to get home. STOP SCAMMING INNOCENT LADIES. Lovisa buys them in for what I assume is no more than a few cents and they force you to sell to 50% of customers! They make millions of these terrible quality swarovski (I don't even think they are Westphalia they discolour so quickly) and I don't even know how they are allowed to use the name. Also polishing cloths. A $5 sunglasses cloth that does literally nothing for your jewelry. There are soooo many more cons but I haven't got the time to list them. ALL IN ALL NEVER WORK HERE IVE BEEN HERE FOR THREE YEARS AND AS SOON AS I GET A NEW JOB OFFER IM GONNA RIP THEM A NEW ONE. SO TIRED OF BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
