Pros

Looking back, I cannot think of a single pro and I wonder why I stayed so long.

Cons

High turnover, no work to life ration because it's all work. They keep their offices understaffed, change biweekly whether they want clinicians to retain patients for multiple episodes or discharge asap despite what the patient really needs. I drove 1500 miles per week and worked 12-14 hour days towards the end. I was the only OT staff for 4 offices for the first year I worked there and then the last 6 months. The company closed two branches and only gave their staff two weeks notice. I stuck with the co.pany through 2 regional directors, 3 executive directors and countless clinical supervisors before I, finally, after being ill for months, missing my 4 year old and husband for dinners 4 months in a row, I dropped to prn, and then only to doing evals for prn when I was told the company was no longer utilizing prn. Weekly, every clinician's job was threatened. There was rarely a complementary word said. I am guessing the company, on a whole, was suffering low moral as the CEO sent out an internal email stating they were changing the titles to certain employees to include excellence because that same theoretical practice has worked for Starbucks. When I started, the agreement was I would work all 4 branches until we could get another therapist and some therapy assistants. There was never another therapist hired. When the newest executive was hired, I was told I knew what I had signed on for, except the newest executive was the third I'd had so he or she had no idea what I signed on for. When it came to asking for help because the hours and travel were making me I'll and causing me to miss my daughter for days at a time, I was told it wasn't person it was business. This is how the management see you as an employee. You are not an asset, or even a person, you are a tool to collect money. I was left with no support, constantly changing internal regulations, and health that took me 4 weeks to recover to functional status. When I dropped to prn, I.was asked to see patients 2.5 hours, one way, away. When I explained how.I would be losing money on those patients without windshield time, I got a so sorry, then dont take them. The company i.quired about me.returnimg to FT status but said they weren't even sure they could compensate me what I was making. So I should return with still no assistance and for, possibly, less than I was making before. I have never witnessed a company who was so insecure, and thoughtless. My recommendation is to know your self worth and if you know that, you will know not to work for Intrepid home health. I should mention that I occasionally worked with hospice and they were a very different story, but home health? I don't know you reading this, but I care about you and your family enough to say run from this wolf in sheep's clothing described as an "opportunity."

Pros

Good beginning salary, ability to manage my own offices fairly independently.

Cons

They aren't paying their bills. Rotates but past few months have had following services stopped by vendors due to non-payment (some are now paid and resumed services): paper shredding, sharps disposal, contract staffing, office supplies. They stopped direct deposit and now issue paper checks. They are six months behind on paying bonuses as well.

Pros

It's a paycheck. Opportunity to network and find a better employer.

Cons

The most divisive, back-stabbing, dishonest employer that I've had the displeasure of working for. Management is not interested in any opinion but there own. The company rewards cancerous, worthless employees that are willing to tell the Emperor his new clothes are magnificent. The leaders are clueless egomaniacs that treat everyone like they are children. The company is behind the curve in embracing technology, and this pose a huge problem if they are to continue in home health. The sales and operations arms are separated, and this causes issues in dealing with poor service. Absolutely lacking in real, positive leadership.
