Pros

Formerly you would be sent to Houston nearly once a year for 1-2 weeks of training. This is a minor perk though. There really isn’t much else to be happy with in this dysfunctional affiliate. I absolutely felt the need to write this review as I believe there are completely false reviews written below (especially the most recent reviews ). This place has gotten even worse than it already was post COVID. I seriously expect the PGA department (effectively public relations department) are behind the below reviews - they are so devoid from the reality of working here that only a promotion agenda can explain this Pay is significantly short of resource industry average (surprising I know!). There are no bonuses in the Exxon system either so forget about that.

Cons

Absolutely toxic individuals at supervisor level. It is very far spread - beware what you are getting into. Knowledge transfer is extremely limited - the utter failure ‘competitive ranking system’ (PDS process) seems to promote coveting of knowledge and it is absolutely destructive to teamwork. Many systems here are abysmal/dysfunctional. I don’t like having to write a review like this - but again I think it is only fair that prospective employees know what they are signing up for give the clearly false positive reviews written below

Pros

Good opportunities for networking and travel.

Cons

A significant HR issue between interns occurred during my internship and was handled very poorly. Once the matter came to HR’s and leadership’s attention, it was not officially resolved until months after the internship had ended. The VP privately apologized for the situation, but the overall response was inadequate and felt as though the situation was being swept under the rug. The lack of timely communication and follow-up created a very uncomfortable environment for a young intern and significantly impacted what was otherwise a positive internship experience.
