Pros

CorePlan is a great company to work for and I would honestly recommend it to anyone interested in the space. The team is generally quite young and energetic, which makes for a very sociable and enjoyable atmosphere. One of the best parts is that the work-life balance and culture are truly second to none; I genuinely enjoy coming to work here. There is a legitimate need for CorePlan's product in the industry, and it’s been exciting to watch the company rapidly expand into new international markets. There is every reason for us to continue growing into one of Australia’s leading software companies, and it's a great journey to be a part of. On top of the mission, the pay is above average and the flexibility is a priceless perk that I really value.

Cons

Like any startup, CorePlan has definitely had its share of growing pains, but things have since settled and worked themselves out. The company is now on a much better trajectory for manageable and sustainable growth moving forward. It is a very fast-paced environment and we still work in a typically 'scrappy' startup way. In my experience, people coming from traditional corporate backgrounds can sometimes struggle to adjust to this - it’s really a style of working that you either love or you don't. Additionally, as mentioned in other reviews, there was previously a problem with a particular manager that had a big impact on the rest of the company. However, this has been resolved, and the current leadership team is well-respected, supportive, and professional.

Pros

I've worked at a few tech companies across different industries, and CorePlan genuinely stands out. The people here are switched on and passionate about what they're building, and that energy rubs off on you pretty quickly. Flexibility is just how the team operates, the pay is solid, and I've never felt like I had to sacrifice having a life outside of work. The CEO is very approachable and you can tell this industry actually means something to him. That filters through to how the whole leadership team operates. There's real room to grow here and feedback is ongoing, which isn't something you can take for granted everywhere. Once you're in it, the need for CorePlan's product is obvious. Watching the company push into new markets has honestly been one of the more exciting parts of this role. The brand is getting noticed too, and there's something pretty cool about seeing an industry full of seasoned veterans genuinely respect what a young, fresh company is doing. Hiring has picked up a lot in the last 12 months and having a well-resourced team around you makes a real difference to what you can actually ship.

Cons

CorePlan is a fast-growing startup, so a polished playbook for every situation doesn't exist yet. The pace is high and things move quickly. If you've come from a big corporate environment, that transition is worth thinking about honestly before you jump in. The people who really thrive here are the ones who want to own things. If you're a self-starter who gets energised by ambiguity and wants to take the lead on projects, you'll find plenty of room to do exactly that. The opportunity is there, you just have to be ready to grab it. The company has matured a lot recently and there's genuine momentum behind how it's growing now. It feels more intentional, and that's a good energy to be part of.
