One of the worst employers please read the reviews
Pros
I struggle to think of any
Cons
The company is very exploitive. They will hire a lot of people on extended probation and use this as a way to monitor for people that are aware of their rights and are willing to stand up for themselves. The company is very behind in terms of technology. A lot of the consoles are very out of date and a lot of the compliance requirements are extreme and mostly focused on ways to reduce responsibility of company and place blame on both retail managers and retail employees for things like drive offs which the company has insurance for but does not share specifics with any retail level managers or employees. This causes unrealistic expectations for staff and potentially dangerous consequences if confrontations happen. I have felt compelled to pay for drive offs or place money in the register from my own pocket as it is easier than investigating the whole team over a 24 hour period for minor variations or blame them for not customers who won't pay regardless of what you do it is impossible to force them even and telling us they will pay if you threaten them with police is not true. The company have without precedent in the industry reclassified some drive offs as 'dream offs' in order to make staff feel more responsible and more likely to pay for it themselves despite not being their fault. There is a belief you can force customers to pay and concerns about violent confrontation are not taken seriously - they care more about minor losses despite being insured against them and use these sorts of scenarios to place expectations on staff that don't know better. If you are aware of your rights and try to find out about the enterprise agreement you will probably be looking for a new job as they will find ways to claim poor performance. Personally I received poor performance reviews without my manager ever discussing with me any issues prior. The day before my shock email termination for poor performance I received amazing feedback from my manager about how the compliance in the store was improved substantially in the latest report because of the my personal contribution and yet I was still terminated without any face to face meeting or due process just before bonuses were due and without any ability to make unfair dismissal claim due to probation. In my performance review on paper was also shockingly negative despite always praising me in person the box for my own comment on was left blank and I was told that it doesn't mean anything but red flags were raised immediately. You will receive a call out of the blue one day for a meeting out of your home store for something they claim should have been discussed with you and this will be for termination and the result of the meeting is predetermined. You won't have any shift flexibility and will be forced to work the shifts that your manager doesn't want to do. In my experience with the company the store managers hire their own friends and or family and allow them to receive positive performance reviews despite not showing up for work on time and regularly not following direction which other employees are terminated for easily during an extended probation. Your contract is carefully worded such that your employment appears to be typical but you soon realise it is designed to be able to terminate you easily and although you are covered by fair work they are aware that you can only apply for general protections claims before 6 months and unfair dismissal claims which are more troublesome for the company are impossible and they are aware of this and that's why they are not concerned by employees that demand their rights as there are many other usually migrant workers unfamiliar with requirements or from countries much worse off who will not stand up for themselves and are easier to take advantage of and be exploited. Take note of the reviews this is a systematic issue this is not just a few disgruntled employees. I wish I never left my other job and didn't realise how good I had it until I worked for a company like this which has absolutely no due process and is unashamed to do things that other companies are more careful with. They will hire people that are capable but vulnerable in order to make you more submissive and willing to agree to things like no breaks and working unpaid overtime. You will work alone and unreasonable targets are made and higher management admit to this. This is in order to reduce bonuses promised and your employment will end before such bonuses are due or your performance review will be negative if you stand up for yourself in order to diminish your contribution to targets and avoid paying the bonuses promised.
