Laing O'Rourke Snapshot
Global construction and engineering group Laing O'Rourke has built a reputation for designing and building major commercial and industrial properties, roads, rail systems, entertainment complexes, airfields, and maritime support facilities. The group works on several of the UK's private finance initiative projects for public-sector infrastructure. Laing O'Rourke operates primarily in Europe, but also has growing operations in the Middle East, Asia and Australia. Chairman and CEO Ray O'Rourke founded the group in 1978 and acquired Laing Construction in 2001. The company is part of a consortium (including CH2M Hill and Mace) that will manage development of London's Olympic Park.
