I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at QBE (New York, NY)
Interview
Met with various executives over 2 rounds of interviews (about 6 people overall) in the head office. Interviews went well, and I was informed I was the lead candidate. I was surprised when I did not receive an offer, until a friend confided in me a few years later that an executive I had worked with at a prior company vetoed my hiring out of self-preservation (he was nearly terminated from our previous employer for an HR issue, and did not want that getting out). I was extremely disappointed, but fortunately had another offer. (That exec is no longer with the company.)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A number of questions on economic outlook (e.g. inflation, pricing, reserving cycles, etc). Questions about my 5 and 10 year plan. Questions about what I think about the company's recent performance.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at QBE (London, England)
Interview
It was conducted over Teams with two interviewers. One of them turned up in a hoodie and worked through most of the interview, barely looking at me. Had I been offered the job, I would've declined based on this lack of professionalism.
