Pros
Decent health benefits, paid holidays are far more than you would expect from any employer, normal work hours (8a-5p), some departments allow for some work from home, my department is not micro-managed
Cons
Climbing out of a financial crisis (imo the President and those he has onboarded have done a fantastic job with a tough ask), no intranet -- if you work there you have to know what page you need to land on from the University site and from there you might be able to find what you're looking for. The entire University should be connected through SharePoint but it's not and I have no idea why, communication is not solid...ex. If your building is having an issue, only certain people are included in the notification email and there is an expectation that those who receive it will pass it on...even though that's not their role. There is not a University wide onboarding process that is available. I had to figure out most everything on my own.
