I debated for a long time whether to put the green "Open to Work" banner on my profile after my layoff. Some career coaches say it reeks of desperation; others say it’s the only way to beat the algorithm. I eventually added it because pride doesn't pay the bills. But it does feel like wearing a scarlet letter. Do you think the green banner helps you get found, or does it signal "distressed asset" to hiring managers?

I find the fact we need to feel guilty about wanting to afford to eat utterly absurd and wish this culture would die.
Nah doesn’t make you look desperate. Just try it out if it affects you in anyway negative psychology than take it off. Just keep applying you will get something!
