Around 75 of Gloucestershire's leading cyber security and tech experts, including Iress employees, descended on our Cheltenham office on Thursday evening for the ‘Securing Financial Services: Threats, Trends and Mitigations’ event. The event was co-hosted with our strategic partner CyNam, the Cheltenham-based UK cyber technology and secure technology network. Following time for networking and a welcome address from Alistair Morgan, UK CEO, attendees were treated to lightning talks from four specially invited speakers - Marc Hutchings (Group Head of Technology and Governance at Legal & General), Briony Shipman (Head of Cyber Defence at Lloyds Banking Group), Matthew Smith (Chief Information Security Officer at St James’s Place) and Ian McKenna (Chief Information Security Officer at Iress). Marc, Briony, Matthew and Ian shared real-world insights on strengthening resilience, responding to current and emerging threats, and supporting secure innovation across financial services before joining forces as a panel to take questions from the audience.

We're predicting big things for Jinesh and the Sprive team, but what does he foresee for the future of the mortgage market? Read his 'Home Truths' interview with Warren O'Connell on the Iress blog to find out. We've just got one final question for Jinesh: What was tougher - facing the Dragons, or being interviewed by Warren?
In 2025, few financial markets experienced the combination of intense market volatility, elevated regulatory scrutiny and accelerated retail participation as the UK, and few provided a stronger real-world test of trading infrastructure resilience. For Iress’s Trading and Market Data (TMD) business, 2025 was a year of exceptional service delivery in the UK, supporting clients through record trading volumes, modernising platforms without disruption and laying the foundations for the next phase of trading technology evolution.
