Normal application process and was contacted by recruiter in a short period of time. A 30-minute pre-screen Zoom interview was arranged and while the Recruiter was 5 minutes late immediately apologized. I was prepared and ready to go! Then it went down hill. The recruiter didn't maintain eye contact and seemed very distracted. They used the word "absolutely" after my responses and my sense was they weren't really listening nor did they feel present in our conversation. After a litany of standard questions the recruiter indicated the pay would be $150,000 but the job description stated the range as $169,000-314,000. I reminded them of the range and then I was asked if that was acceptable and I said it wasn't acceptable, thanked her for their time and left the meeting. A total bait and switch. I consider this a bullet dodged if that's the way candidates are treated.
